To Apis

I hail holy Apis, the bull-formed God

The fertile one, Whose throaty bellow heralds the spring’s awakening

He Who brings all good things to the Two Lands

Fierce and powerful, He drives off the invaders

And gorges them on His horns

Great Apis, soul of Ptah, You are solid and firm

None may sway You from Your path

You bless the land and cause it to yield fruit

For as You live, so life continues

Mighty son of the Hesat-Cow

Beautiful bull of Egypt

I sing praises to Your holy name
